The Justice Department of the United States of America alleges rocket companies to be considered asylum seekers and refugees because of their citizenship status.
On Thursday a case was filed against the billionaire Elon Musk’s rocket company SpaceX. The file is charges due to alleged hiring against asylum seekers and refugees.
According to the reports from the justice department SpaceX
“Routinely discouraged asylees and refugees from applying and referred to hire or consider them, because of their citizen status” from at least September 2018 to May 2022.
The justice department revealed in court about the filing that it was investigating space exploration. Two years later the civil suit came.
Kristen Clarke, the assistant attorney general of the Justice Department’s civil rights division, stated in a statement
Our investigation found that SpaceX failed to fairly consider or hire asylees and refugees because of their citizenship status and imposed what announced to a ban on their hire regardless of their qualification, in violation of federal law
